Mastercard’s Automatic Billing Updater is a free service participating merchants can use under certain conditions to help reduce declined transactions due to account changes — like new credit or debit card numbers and expiration dates — for card-on-file transactions and automated payments.
What are card-on-file transactions and automated payments?
Card-on-file transactions are payments processed using a card number you’ve stored with a merchant, service provider or website by creating an account and saving your credit or debit card information:
- Transportation services (ex. Uber or Lyft)
- Clothing websites
- Online retailers (Amazon, Wayfair)
- Movies, music, and eBook download services (Netflix, Pandora)
- Online payment services (PayPal, Digital Wallet)
- Prescriptions
Automated payments are recurring payments you set up with a merchant or service provider:
- Phone Service
- Cable or television service
- Utilities
- Homeowners’ association dues
- Music subscriptions
- Magazine subscription
- Radio subscriptions
- Gym membership
- Anti-Virus software
- Insurance premiums
- Recurring charitable donations

No. Automated Billing Updater is only available to participating merchants, and they can choose the frequency at which they check for updated payment information. To avoid late payments and penalties, you must take steps to ensure your credit or debit card information is updated.

The fast and easy way to deposit your loose change
Did you know that we have Mission Coin Counters at most of our branches? That means there’s no need for you to count and roll your loose change. It’s a quick and easy way to sort mixed coin fast and accurately — and the Coin Counter does all the work.
As another member benefit, on personal accounts coin processing up to $200 per month, with an annual cap of $1,000 at the Coin Counter machine and Teller Line combined is free. Any amount over $200 per month or $1,000 annually will be charged an 11% fee.
On member business accounts, coin processing over $50 per month at the Coin Counter machine and Teller Line combined will be charged an 11% fee.
So, search your pockets, the bottom of your purse or that bag of accumulated change in the back of your closet. Maybe even crack open that piggy bank. Then bring all that loose change to a Coin Counter at a branch near you:
