CIF’s ideal of “Pursuing Victory with Honor,” provides the opportunity to influence the actions of the athletic community.
Joe Heinz, Commissioner of CIFSDS, said, “With the abrupt ending to interscholastic athletics in Spring 2020, and with the combined challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our kids, schools and communities, our attention is now focused on the support of student athletes throughout the San Diego Section. We must support our kids as they pursue their passion for competition after more than a year.”
Mission Fed will also be supporting CIF’s All-Academic teams and scholar athletes. The purpose of the All-Academic Teams and San Diego Section Scholars is to honor students who excel not only athletically, but academically as well. The programs recognize some of the very brightest students in San Diego and Imperial Counties. All academic teams honor the athletes in each sport that compile the highest, combined unweighted grade point average in their region of the CIF San Diego Section. The five regions of the San Diego Section are North, South, Metropolitan San Diego, East, and Inland (Imperial County). In each of those regions, the team in each sport with the highest team GPA is recognized as the All-Academic Team.
