Overdraft Protection Services
At Mission Fed, we understand that life happens. We’re for people, not profit. Which is why, if you accidentally overdraft your checking account, we have options to keep you covered.
Overdraft Transfer
Overdraft Transfers are free and may be set up to transfer from your Savings account or other applicable share account. You can also set up an Overdraft Transfer from an eligible loan account such as a Credit Card or Line of Credit. To set up Overdraft Transfer, simply send us a secure message via Mobile or Online Banking, call us at 800.500.6328 or visit any of our branches. You will pay interest on the amount transferred depending on how quickly you pay it off, but it is usually much less than the fees of other coverage services.
Overdraft Protection
Overdraft Protection is extended to members for their good account management. When there are not enough funds available, this service may pay checks and Automated Clearing House (ACH) items that are coming out of the account as payments.
There is no fee to enroll, and no fee will be charged unless you use the service and the transaction results in a negative balance that is greater than $10; the fee is $10 per item with a $30 per share maximum daily total fees we can charge for overdrawing your account. This service is not a credit product; it is intended for occasional use only, and should not be relied upon when you know funds are not available in your account.
Debit Card Overdraft Protection
When you enroll with Debit Card Overdraft Protection, Mission Fed may authorize your PIN and signature-based Debit Card purchase transactions, even if there is not enough money in your checking account to cover them.
There is no fee to enroll, and no fee will be charged unless you use the service and the transaction results in a negative balance that is greater than $10; the fee is $10 per item with a $30 per share maximum daily total fees we can charge for overdrawing your account (Please check our fee schedule.)
If you have a Breeze Spending account, free overdraft protection for debit card transactions is available up to $20 without direct deposit and up to $100 with direct deposit. (Please check our fee schedule.)
This is not a credit product; it is an overdraft protection program that is intended to be used occasionally for inadvertent overdrafts only and should not be relied upon when you know funds are not available in your account.

For members who choose to participate in Overdraft Protection and already have Debit Card Overdraft Protection, the total amount is a combined overdraft limit for both services. If you have other overdraft protection services in place, those services will be used prior to Debit Card Overdraft Protection.
Opt Out
You can opt out of Debit Card Overdraft Protection at any time by logging in to Mobile or Online Banking and by changing your elections in the Member Services section of the Menu or by sending us a secure message while logged in. You can opt out of Overdraft Protection by sending us a secure message via Mobile or Online Banking.
