Mission Fed joined the North County Philanthropy Council (NCPC) at the 2019 Volunteer Awards to honor the men and women from NCPC members’ organizations and companies who give their time, treasure and talent to help strengthen and enrich our North County communities. With this, one of our very own Board Members, Dr. Lupe Buell, was nominated and presented with the Certificate of Commendation from the County of San Diego, Fifth District. Lupe Holguin Buell, PhD has served as a volunteer Board Member for Mission Fed for over 30 years and passionately addresses the diverse financial needs of our local community through scholarships and financial education along with the financial inclusion accomplishments of our Hispanic Advisory Committee.
Dr. Buell also received the 2019 herMANA of the Year Award from MANA de San Diego for her years of volunteering in scholarship committee, board member, and co-Chair of Latina Success Conference and Latina Success Leadership Program. MANA de San Diego’s award-winning, educational programs include mentoring, educational financial support, health & wellness and leadership development.
