Mission Federal Credit Union to Donate Holiday Trees to the San Diego Center for Children on December 5, 2019

Volunteers to spread holiday cheer to the Center’s children

SAN DIEGO – Mission Federal Credit Union, San Diego’s largest locally based financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, will be donating and delivering holiday trees to the San Diego Center for Children on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 9:00am Employee volunteers representing Mission Fed’s senior leadership team plus staff from branches and departments will join the Center’s staff and children in decorating 28 holiday trees with lights, stands and ornaments. The trees will be placed in the residential cottages at the San Diego Center for Children’s main campus in Linda Vista, and at its additional program sites in Serra Mesa, La Mesa, Escondido, Spring Valley and El Cajon.

Within its safe and nurturing 12-acre campus, the Center provides therapeutic care, special education, foster care and transition age services to children and families struggling with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, empowering the lives of more than 1,000 people every day. Many of the children and teens in therapeutic residential care remain at the Center’s main campus during the holidays.

“Mission Fed is excited to help spread holiday cheer to kids and teens at the San Diego Center for Children this holiday season,” said Angie Lasagna, Vice President of Community Relations for Mission Fed. “This is our fourth year participating in this special event and our employees find so much fulfillment in bringing cheer to those in need. It’s really heartwarming to see.”

Founded in 1887, the San Diego Center for Children is the oldest children’s nonprofit in San Diego that provides a range of services across 8 program sites and in hundreds of homes, schools and communities throughout the region.  As the organization celebrates 132 years of service, it shares its sincerest appreciation for the incredible amount of support shown by the San Diego community over the decades.
